If you're looking for a one-story new construction home in the Marion, Schertz or Cibolo area, the Hughes floor plan by Meritage Homes at Stetson Ridge is one worth knowing about.

The Hughes is just over 2,000 square feet with 4 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, two living spaces and a covered patio—all on one story.

What I Like About the Hughes Floor Plan

One of my favorite things about this layout is how flexible it is.

At the front of the home, there's a secondary bedroom with access to a full bathroom. That setup could work really well for an older teenager who wants more privacy, guests, another adult living in the home or even someone who needs a private home office.

Farther into the home are two additional secondary bedrooms, another full bathroom and one of my favorite features of this floor plan: a separate flex space between the bedrooms.

That extra room could become a playroom, homework area, gaming room, second office or another living space. You're able to have four actual bedrooms without sacrificing one of them to get that additional flexible space.

The home also has an open main living, kitchen and dining area, with the primary bedroom separated from the secondary bedrooms.

Outside, there's a covered patio. Depending on the homesite, a smaller backyard could also be a plus for someone who wants an outdoor space without spending a lot of time maintaining a large yard.
